Ramblin’ on my Mind
(Editors note: due to family circumstances delaying article completion, some of the topics covered in this piece will sound a tad old)
Well boys and girls welcome back to the Edge. I apologize for the long delay in between shows. I’ve been so damn busy running around setting up the new online radio show www.blogtalkradio.com/lordelevation that my focus on the blog hasn’t been what it should be. That will change in the upcoming weeks.

Like Steven Tyler, Elevation is back in the saddle again with his latest blog entry
I finally have two huge guests lined up for the show who you will hear more about in the weeks to come. I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag, but one is a wrestler and the other is a MMA fighter. Together they have combined have plenty of championships with organizations such as TNA, Strikeforce, UFC, and ECW.
Stay tuned for that.
I don’t really have a specific topic on mind for tonight, so bare with me as I ramble my way through a few things that are floating around my mind at the moment.
Last week I posed a query to the audience about whether I should purchase a throwback 1934 Eagles jersey or a Randall Cunningham jersey to add to my Philadelphia Eagles collection of garments. Needed to say that question is now completely irrelevant following our latest NFC Championship blunder against Kurt Warner, God, and the Arizona Cardinals. I know that many Eagles fans are fed up with Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb’s dismal NFC Championship record. However, I just can’t throw those two guys under the bus this time. Anybody with half a brain, who doesn’t have a debilitating heroin problem like SJX, realizes that Reid and McNabb were not the responsible parties for the Eagles loss.
The three people/ entities to blame are:
1- The Defense. How do you let Larry Fitzgerald catch 3TDs? What sort of game planning is that?
2- David Akers. Akers did everything possible to ruin the Eagles attempted comeback. He missed a FG, and extra point, and kicked an important kickoff out of bounds. If we had lost this game by anything less then three points I would have ran in front of traffic after the game.
3- Correll Buckhalter. I know Buckhalter didn’t have anything to do with the loss itself, but was it really necessary for him to do a leaping chest bump with Edge James following a playoff game? What the hell is that? Could you imagine Jack Lambert or Johnny Unitas doing a chest bump with an opponent after the game? Its the freakin’ playoffs, show a little god damn intensity! Hell, I did a Flair flop in my basement following the last play of the game, that caused family members to believe I died. And I’m just a fan. take your stupid aqua-marine name and get the hell out of town.

Unlike Correll Buckhalter, Jack Lambert would have murdered any opponent who tried to chest bump him following a playoff loss
Before I go back to sports, how beautiful is it that Lost is back in our lives? Wednesday’s season debut was spectacular. I was really thrilled, because I was under the impression that by 2 hour debut, they meant the 1 hour show in review show and the 1 hour premiere. I had no idea it was going to be two hours worth of new material.
I thought the episodes were great. Time travel can be such a tricky concept to convey on television though. Lost can be confusing enough as it is. Throwing in the extra dimension of the characters meeting themselves in the past or the future can really blow the mind if things aren’t done correctly.

Watch this season of Lost or Sawyer will literally kill you
After his destruction of Andrei Arlovski, I am convinced there is no living heavyweight who would have any chance in hell of beating Fedor Emelianenko. Fedor is like the Borg from Star Trek. He is completely emotionless and replicates himself into clones to try and kill Patrick Stewart. Well maybe not the first part, but you get my idea. I think Josh Barnett and Brock Lesnar could have a chance against Fedor if things were to go perfectly for those two fighters. However, I doubt either of them will ever get the opportunity. I think Affliction may go the way of the dinosaurs due to its ridiculous payroll, and Fedor has shown zero desire to sign an exclusive contract with the UFC. If Affliction does fold, I suppose his next move will be to go back to Japan and beat up random, untrained Japanese professional wrestlers just for the hell of it.
Fedor hugs some giant Asian gentleman before promptly ripping his heart out.
The Royal Rumble was a somewhat entertaining WWE pay per view. I thought the Matt Hardy heel turn was the hihglight of the night, but the second he walked out with a chair, everybody knew what was about to happen. I think Randy Orton was the right person to win the Rumble match, but the match itself had no rhythm. There weren’t enough eliminations. Instead of the Royal Rumble match, in some instances it felt more like a sloppy 30 man battle royal because there were way too many people in the ring.
Also, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Goldust should never appear on WWE TV again unless its a picture with the words “In Memory of” super imposed over it.
RVD coming back was a neat surprise, but it wasn’t quite enough. Last year’s Rumble match was so cool because Rowdy Roddy Piper, Super Fly Snuka, Mick Foley, and John Cena all made huge surprise appearances. There was almost an audible groan when the Big Show came out at #30 because everyone was really hoping for someone better.
Storyline was, Orton was the smartest choice, so I’m glad the WWE didn’t give it to the Undertaker and HHH just for the hell of it.

Randy Orton's arms should be the other two members of the legacy, not Rhodes and Dibiase.
Well there it is. Thanks for coming out everybody. Check out the radio show website and enjoy the week. Can’t wait for UFC 94 this Saturday. More on that to follow.
