Brock Lesnar: The Greatest Man in the World

Move over Ric Flair. Move over guy from the Dos Equis commercials. Move over LeBron James. Move over Tom Brady. Move over the Pope. Move over Bono (sorry). Move over Jesus.

Sorry everybody, but there is a new greatest man in the world and his name is Brock Lesnar. It was a pleasure to watch Brock decimate Frank Mir last night in the main event of UFC 100. Mir had been talking shit for 18 months, since he submitted Brock in February of 2008, and my God the Vanilla Gorilla shut Mir the fuck up last night.

Here is a photo of what Frank Mir looked like before the fight last night:

Here is a picture of Mir after UFC 100

Mir after Brock

Mir after Brock

I know Mir was playing a character in the weeks leading up to UFC 100, but I fell right in and wanted to see him get his face totally pounded in. Mir did his best to cause a revolt among wrestling fans around the country. After weeks of dissing professional wrestling, our savior Brock Lesnar came into town with a six pack of Whoop Ass and demolished Mir like it was a HHH versus a local jobber match.

The fight was just a simple beat down. It won’t make any Ultimate Knockout DVDs. It won’t be included in highlight packages for UFC television., but it was gratifying none the less. God was able to contort Mir into a basic head lock and rain down punch after punch after punch, before the ref Herb Dean had enough of the carnage and stopped the fight in order to save Mir from having to go through dozens of Michael Jackson like operations to save his face. The bell sounded, and our brave pro wrestling hero had extracted revenge and won a morale boosting victory for wrestling fans across the world. Even better than the fight, was Brock’s amazing post- fight promo. It was the Austin 3;16 speech of the UFC. After flipping off the annoying crowd, Brock channeled his inner Heyman and went into promo land and busted out such nuggets as “Hell, I may even get on top of my wife tonight” & Frank Mir had a horseshoe in his ass. I pulled it out and beat him over the head with it.”

It was amazing stuff. How is it Brock Lesnar is able to come up with a better promo right on the spot after fighting for ten minutes, than WWE creative is able to despitre knowing whats going to happen in every match and segment?

But anyway, thank you for representing wrestling fans Brock. Don’t let the sanctimonious “MMA Hardcore” bastards who vomit at the thought of a dreaded pro wrestler having the audacity to win their precious belt  bring you down. Just keep doing your job and let the haters go fuck themselves. I know they all want their precious Fedor to join the UFC and steal your title, but you can keep him. I know Fedor is a cyborg, but he has never faced a fighter with your physical tools. Big Nog and Cro Cop in their primes were damn good, but they never weighed 265. Bring it bitch!

Brock Lesnar demonstrates an even better finishing move than the F-5. The hold Frank Mirs head down and rain punch after punch-5.

UFC 100 was the perfect event, in that all of the fighters I wanted to win, actually won! It started off well in the prelims when 44 year old Mark Coleman was able to overcome age, hydration issues, and shot knees to beat the American Psycho Stephan Bonnar. Look, I appreciate Bonnar for what he and Forrest Griffin did for the sport back at the first Ultimate Fighter Finale, but the guy needs to be main-eventing local cards at Indian Reservations at this stage of his career, not fighting in the UFC. He has looked like a shell of his former self in his last two fights against the 21 year old  Jon Jones and the aging hipster Mark Coleman. Apparently Bonnar can’t beat anybody between the ages of 21 and 44. That really leaves alot of options available for future opponents.  If he isn’t cut, Bonnar will either be fighting Prince Michael Jackson or Terry Funk in his next battle. But I was glad to see Coleman get the win. I always cheer hard for the old-school guys whether it is Mark Coleman in the UFC or a blatantly juiced Ken Shamrock fighting 500 pound men for local promotions in a barn in Fresno.

Mark Coleman- A typical 44 year old man.

The next fight that went the way I was rooting for was the Michael Bisping-Dan Henderson 185 pound battle. Michael Bisping suffered the worst defeat for a Brit, at the hands of an American since the battle of Yorktown to end the Revolutionary War. Michael Bisping also attended the Frank Mir school of how to be a real life heel. Except, instead of pissing off professional wrestling fans, Michael Bisping did the next best thing and piss off America! Bisping talked all sorts of shit during this past season of the Ultimate Fighter about Hendo as Coach of the UK team and followed it up by enterting the octagon with the wonderful strategy of walking directly into Dan Henderson’s right hand. It was one of the hardest knockouts that I have ever seen. Generally when I’m watching TV or something on the computer by myself I rarely make any noise, however when Hendo knocked Bisping the hell out I turned into Jim Ross and yelled “My God, he died!” to nobody in particular. Michael Bisping may have actually died for the two minutes he laid prone in the cage without waking up. To be fair to Bisping, the shot Hendo gave him would have knocked out a small country’s power, let alone a human being. Dan Henderson punched Michael Bisping so hard, the earth got knocked out of its orbit and is now spinning towards the Sun. But hey, its OK at least the veteran American fighting legend was able to beat the upstart British douchebag.

I’m sorry Saint. I’ll make up for my Bisping/British bashing by starting to follow Premier League Soccer closely this August. Would you like me to buy you a Man United Christiano Ronaldo jersey to make up for my revelry? Oh wait. How about  a video montage of sexy pictures of Mickie James?

Also here is a photo of Michael Bisping leaving UFC 100 at the end of the night:

The other big fight of the night was Geroges St. Pierre’s dominating victory over upstart Thiago Alves. GSP is the Terminator. Just if the Terminator was from Montreal, Quebec and had a voice that sounds like a cartoon character. There is nothing you can hate about GSP. He is a phenomenal talent and has completely dusted the rest of the welterweight division. Honestly, there are no compelling matchups left at 170 for GSP. The only way he will be beaten is if Bret Hart puts him in a sharpshooter right before a match. GSP was able to beat Alves, despite tearing his groin in the third round!

Wait a second. As I’m writing this article I am skimming through Wikipedia and reading the pages for several old WWF pay per views. Look at this picture I found for “WWF Bad Blood 1997″.

What the hell?

What the hell?

What the hell is going on there? Why is the Undertaker holding a bheaded version of his own head? Did I miss a head on a pole match at some point? Damn that picture is crazy. You will never see that in the WWE again.

Anyway, back to GSP. He is a machine nobody will beat him at 170. End of story.

The picture of Undertaker holding his own head has distracted me so badly, I am unable to write a witty caption for this picture.

Finally to end this article, I’d like to post a compilation of message board postings I made on various sites while watching UFC 100

11:00PM

Oh my fucking god

hendo just killed bisping

he is fucking dead

11:02PM

That was one of the hardest knockouts I have ever seen. Holy hell Hendo killed him. Bisping was down for 2 minutes.
11:33PM
The Pitbull is about to meet Old Yeller.

Go Brock!

The Vanilla Gorilla is going to roll.

12:20 AM

THATS WHAT I”M TALKING ABOUT

BROCK JUST POUNDED THAT LITTLE FUCKER’s FACE IN

12:28 AM
Brock just gave the greatest promo in the history of combat sports.
So there you have it everybody. My live diary of UFC 100. Productive stuff. Well it was a fantastic show, and I was so great to see an old man, America, GSP, and pro wrestling all get huge wins in one night.  I am going to cry myself to sleep because of that picture of Taker’s head.
Good night!

  1. Your an idiot. Brock lesnar has not fought top lvl compeitition yet. The greatest man in the world in mma right now if Fedor. But you probably dont even know who he is. Watch his fights hes undefeated. Learn some real mma or go back to your WWE which your good at.

  2. Noone will beat GSP? … for now but you can make such a bold statement. And for Brock lesnar being he greatest…. ROFL…. He has what 5 fights? he lost 1…. and he beat a 46 year old and a very very overrated Frank Mir. So what if frank mir beat Big nog, Big nog is NOTHING i repeat NOTHING like he used to be. Big nog has taking to many beatings it takes a toll. Do you even watch mma?

  3. Wow this is the most retarded shit ive ever seen by a WWE fan boy watching UFC because Brock is in it, what a fucking load of utter shite! stick to WWE u faggot.

  4. JOSH BARNETT COULD BEAT BROCK FFS

  5. Shocking that I make comments critical of sanctimonious MMA fanboys and our comment section gets invaded by a bunch of sanctimonious MMA fanboys.

  6. [...] Nog and Cro Cop in their primes were damn good, but they never weighed 265. Bring it bitch!" Brock Lesnar: The Greatest Man in the World The Outsiders’ Edge __________________ http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lordelevation Check out my interviews with [...]

  7. Poor UFC fans. One “crappy WWE fighter” comes in with only “5 fights worth of experience” and beats the crap out of everyone you throw his way. What are you going to do now? Your “sport” has been shown for what it really is. A joke. It’s fake pro wrestling. Great article El.

  8. Now to clarify, I do love MMA and the UFC.

I was just complaining about the haters who all think Lesnar is a joke because of his WWE background, when it is the furthest thing from the truth.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for Brock and stir up the so called “MMA hardcores” because it is so goddamn fun.

  9. LOL this is the dumbest shit ive ever heard. Brock beats frank mir (who sucks, only beat an out of prime nog and NO1 else good LOOK AT HIS PAST) and now hes the greatest HW? ROFL.

Now I will admit he is a great HW but far from the best. Josh barnett, Fedor, Aleks, Dos santos jr, Overeem, Kongo, Cain, Carwin would all kill him.

Lets look at brocks past for a second.
Min-Soo Kim- Can but for first fight its reasonable

Frank Mir- Loss (ill admit he was wooping franks ass but then made a rookie mistake)

Heath Herring- Good performance but couldnt even finish an over prime herring.

Randy Couture- Well getting beat up by a 45 year old right before taking him down and pounding him out speaks for itself. HES 45!!!! Brock weighs 265 pounds at weigh in and probably close to 300 in the fight. Just because Randy is a legend people forget that he is 45 years old!

Frank mir- Was getting beat in the stand up game so had to take frank down and lay on him and pound him out. Good strategy I must say b/c brock has no striking.

Now lets look at frank mirs past before brock and lets see why hes not a high level competition.

    loss to ian freeman- rofl
    loss to Marcio Cruz- Rofl
Gets wooped in TKO in 1min vs- Brandon Vera
    Then
Beats Antoni Hardonk- Impressive but only vs a B lvl fighter
Brock lesnar- Beats him b/c lesnar made a mistake
Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira- Now this is the most misleading fight which put mir on the map. Nog came into this fight way past his prime with a staff infection + hurt knee (but no1 comes into the ring full healed so the knee means nothing)
He looked like a punching bag and could not take a punch. Nog should retire soon he is going to get hurt. He has been in to many wars. Watch his past fights Frank mir did no damage to Nog compared to his pride fights.

    ———-

    Now after that being said…
Brock beats an old legend and hes on the map
Frank beats an old legend and hes on the map

    Brock beats frank
    Now brocks the best???…

Brock is a force to reckon with. He has Great wrestling, unbelievable takedown and strength.
His stand up sucks. Now in no way does Lesnar suck but in no way is he close to the best. I would put him in the top 10 for sure but lets wait a few more fights vs real competition before we call brock great.

Stupid WWE fans moving to MMA for brock. Go watch some old pride fights before thinking that the UFC is the ultimate HW division.

  10. Brock is good but nowhere close to great. Hes to new to the sport. In a couple years he will be great but he started MMA to old he will never have engouh skill to beat Fedor.

Plus wait for Carwin or Cain to knock his ass out.

  11. This is war in here.
Brocks a beast but as others have said he has a lot more to prove. Hes done good so far. Plus Brock is not really representing Pro Wrestling you forgot his past.

Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, 1998 NJCAA Heavyweight Champion, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

If he never went into pro wrestling and came straight to MMA people would be all over this guy. He would have a better attitude none of that WWE crap and he would be great for the sport. To bad he had to do WWE (but dont blame him thats where the money was) and get corrupted by it.

Fedor, Josh, Carwin just to name a few > Brock

  12. [...] dont agree with this Brock Lesnar: The Greatest Man in the World The Outsiders’ Edge top 5 worst Articles [...]

  13. People just hate Brock because of his background. Mir and Bisping did far worse pro wrestling style shit than anything Brock did after the fight, yet the pious didn’t go out of their way to attack them.

People can try and trivialize Brock’s record all you want, but you can do that with every fighter. You can only fight the people in front of you, and Herring, Randy, and Mir are damn good fighters.

I’m not saying he isn’t amazing, but look at Fedor’s last 5 fights-

Mark Hunt- an underachieving fat man who has gone on to lose 5 straight fights.

Matt Lindland- a natural 185 pounder

Hong Mon Choi- a genetic freak show with zero talent.

Tim Sylvia- Has suffered a ton of KOs lately, including one to an ancient former boxer, Ray Mercer in 12 seconds

Arlovski- a Guy with a totally glass chin.

You can do that with anybody.

  14. [...] [...]

  15. [...] Brock Lesnar: The Greatest Man in the World The Outsiders’ Edge Lol this guy is an idiot for sure [...]

  16. fedors last 5 opponents…
arlovski- 5 fight wins streak- So what if he lost to Rogers that was after the fact that arlovski was ranked # 2 or # 3 at the time.

Sylvia- ranked top 5 at the time- He beat arlovski 2x, jeff monson, lost to randy couture, beat brandon vera (who just KTFO frank mir) lost to Big nog but was wooping his ass the whole fight. Once again who cares what happens AFTER the fight he stood up with a Great boxer and came in weighing over 300+ pounds of fat…..

Choi – Yes a weird match up but hey, thats japan, plus Choi was dominating K-1 at the time

Matt Lindland- Won 9 of his last 10 fights before fedor, A natrual 185er is your argument? lol Brock has that size advantage in EVER fight….

Mark Hunt- beat wanderlei silva, cro cop, and lost to josh barnett (won 5 of his last 6 fights before)- Underachiever?…yea right lol
2001 K-1 World Grand Prix champion
2001 K-1 World Grand Prix in Fukuoka champion
2001 K-1 Oceania Grand Prix in Melbourne champion
2000 K-1 Oceania Grand Prix champion
1999 WKBF Australian Super Heavyweight champion

  17. Brock is a beast.
We will see how he does but for greatest man in the world… nope

  18. This article made me an instant fan of you and your work. You absolutely do not suck. Nice job.

  19. If underachiever was the wrong word for Hunt, over the hill may have been more appropriate, seeing as how he lost his 6 fights if you combine his MMA and K-1 records.

I mean people seem to think Frank Mir and Randy are somehow poor opponents since they had to audacity to lose to Brock, I’m just copying what they are doing with Fedor.

  20. Dan Henderson is abslutely the man!!! Go get Spinder and finish him!!!
