New Horizons

Alright folks welcome back to the Edge. The last few days have been earth shattering around here for many different reasons. As you may have noticed, the post below this one about World Soccer Daily absolutely blew up. I would have never fathomed having a post that generated over 125 comments. I think it shows the growing spirit of the American soccer fan as well as the ability of this website to reach a shitload of people thanks to our relationship with Google.

It is with mixed emotions that I announce two major changes to The Outsiders Edge.

1- SJX will no longer be contributing to this website due to personal differences in regards to the WSD controversy. Basically he was mad, that I was mad, that Liverpool FC was mad about Steven Cohen’s comments regarding the Hillsbrough controversy. As I so horribly found out on Monday morning, the sensibilities of English football fans can be difficult things for Americans to understand. Sadly, it was his decision to erase all mention of himself on this website. Saint is a wonderfully talented individual and a great friend and I hope that he is able to find some sort of new creative outlet to show off his immense talents.

If  D-Generation X can reunite (for marketing purposes) again and again, after HHH smashed Shawn Michaels’ head into a windshield in 2002, anything is possible. However any sort of reunion between the two of us is a hell of a long way off, and I wish Saint the best in his future endeavors. I’m sure Morgan Pressel will be delighted to know that SJX now has even more time to follow her on Twitter.

At the 30 second mark of this video you can see the fateful incident that caused the break up of SJX and myself.

2- With that horrible news aside, I am pleased to announce the introduction of The Edge’s Global Correspondent intiative. I have decided to recruit a stable of writers from around the globe to offer periodic lookins into their local sporting scenes. Our correspondents will summarize the latest sports happenings in their local markets and introduce the rest of the world to players, coaches, and personalities who deserve an international spotlight. It is an interesting concept ans should turn into a really neat idea once we get the vehicle headed in the right path. I have recruited writers from Toronto to Denver to Sydney to help me out and share a bit of local perspective.

Enjoy,

Elevation

  1. I’ll still be keeping an eye on this place.

And,probably touching myself inappropriately whilst doing it.

It’s a new day,a new dawn,a new direction for the Edge;sadly, with much fewer mentions of a naked Paula Creamer.

Good luck as you begin phase two of the Outsiders’ Edge.

And if you’re not down with that,I’ve got two words for ya…

    *huggs*

  2. You better keep an eye on it, because all of next week we’ll be posting your credit card number, descriptions of your car, your bank account number, and known hangouts.

  3. Sadtns back from the keyboard in amazement! Thanks!
